Founder of Special Yoga Ltd

Jyoti Jo Manuel

I have practiced yoga since the early 1970s. In the 1990's I found myself drawn to working with children and young people with special and additional needs and in 2003 I founded Special Yoga, a global non profit organisation providing therapeutic yoga teacher training and empowered leadership skills to those responsible for children with special needs.

In the UK we are developing programmes for the NHS to alleviate and support children with autism, social-emotional and learning challenges in education, as well as offering bespoke trainings for paediatric professionals, parents and schools. We run charitable global programmes supporting children with special needs and their families in parts of the world where they have little or no access to therapeutic support. And we are soon to launch online teacher training to enable more children around the world to benefit from the life changing practises that we offer.

I am delighted to have been invited to be an ambassador for BrightSky. I believe that at this time we need to be coming together as community and in unity to support the future of the planet. Supporting children is the future and I hope that my commitment to honouring the lives and gifts of children with special and additional needs will add to this fantastic initiative.
